Queensland hosts the Scooter HQ Six Hour Endurance Race
Following on from the popular Le
Minz 24 Hour Scooter Race, Queensland is soon to
host a shorter version of the ever popular endurance race, with the Scooter HQ Six Hour, taking place at
Ipswich Go Cart Track on the evening of December
15.

Up to 25 scooter riders are
confirmed to race between 5:20pm and 11:30pm, with three entry classes participating.
Classes include the Scooter Stock of 50cc scooters with restriction devices
removed, the Super Scooter of 50cc scooters with controlled modifications, and
the Mega Scooter including controlled modifications with big bore kits up to
70cc.
The track is arguably
Australia's
premier karting track, being a dedicated race track it has inbuilt safety with
plenty of run off. A maximum of three riders are permitted per scooter and
scooters can only refuel during the compulsory break every two
hours.
Scooter manufacturer Vmoto considers
their chances of winning the Scooter HQ Six
Hour high, with their bike entry of choice being the Vmoto Matrix
50cc, which won its class at the Le Minz 24 Hour Scooter
Race.
Commenting on the team's chances
Vmoto team manager, Tanywn Travers said, "The Scooter HQ Six Hour gives Vmoto a
chance to show the public that our Scooters can be ridden by anyone in a fun or
competitive environment, with guaranteed reliability to always go the
distance.
"Powered by a zippy reed valve two
stroke 50cc engine, the Matrix delivers unparalleled performance, while the
hydraulic suspension and disk front brake provide for enhanced handling and a
smooth ride."
Other manufacturers looking to take
on Vmoto in the Scooter HQ six
Hour include Arqin, TGB, Yamaha, Peugeot, Aprilia, Bug and Daelim.
The rules of each class have been
formulated to keep the cost of scooter racing very low while the sport is in its
infancy, yet the event is to cater to the masses and promises to be entertaining
to watch. Entry to the public is by gold coin donation which will be provided
to charities within the area.
